'The Reckless Moment' Director: Max Ophuls (1949) Indicator label- includes multiple special features (including Todd Haynes appreciation) . Region free.

Film-noir meets melodrama in Ophuls' best American film. Joan Bennett's middle-class housewife 'Lucia' takes extreme measures to protect her family from scandal related to her teenage daughter. James Mason turns up as 'Martin Donnelly' a mobster's lackey to blackmail her but finds himself falling for the woman. The director's 'gliding' camera movements are used to great effect.
